Opened in 1936, Keeneland is the world’s largest and most prominent Thoroughbred auction house and hosts world-class racing twice annually during its boutique spring and fall meetings. Owners, trainers, riders and fans from all over the world travel to Lexington each year to participate at Keeneland. Racing season includes 40 graded stakes worth more than $10 million and 10 Breeders’ Cup qualifying races. There are four sales seasons throughout the year, generating more than $500 million in total sales with buyers and sellers from more than 50 countries. Keeneland is a major partner of the UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, providing private investment for research and teaching programs that serve the equine industry. |
